"Our way of training and practising can be different from learning in other styles as Budo is not just a sport, it is for surviving"

Bujinkan Sen Ki Dojo explores the essence of various techniques, surviving methods and knowledge unique to the Martial Arts of the Samurai and Shinobi Warrior of Japan under the Bujinkan Dojo (Divine Warrior Hall), with the guidance of our Grand Master Dr Masaaki Hatsumi.

          Bujinkan Senki Dojo offers authentic Martial Arts training in Manchester and Bury area.

 "Traditional methods, modern applications"

These renowned techniques were secretly inherited and collected through the various lineages of Masters for over 1000 years. These skills are contained in the 9 traditional schools that form the Bujinkan System.

There will always be bigger and stonger people out there which techniques using brute force will have no effect, with this in mind we use Martial Arts skills, body mechanics and strategies to survive and even subdue the largests of attackers. Some techniques are specialised and allow the practitioners to be able to evade, disarm and confront if necessary any opponents, enabling them to protect themselves effectively in the face of true danger.

Among the various skills practiced are:

  • Daken Taijutsu: Striking techniques , this is the use of natural weapons, fist, elbows, knee to strike the opponent on precise areas.
  • Kosshijutsu: Koshi techniques utilise the tips of the fingers to rip, tear, gouge and strike the softer internal areas and pressue points of the adversary's body including the nervous system.
  • Koppojutsu: Solid parts of the body are used as weapons to attack the adversary's bone structure. In addition to bones, breaking the physical and emotional balance of an adversary is an integral part of all koppo techniques;
  • Jutaijutsu: In addition to grappling (trapping) methods which consists of joint locks and leverages, this section is comprised of choking techniques (jime waza).
    Also included in this category are methods of countering and escaping from constricting attacks;
  • Ninpo Taijutsu (unarmed aspects of the arts of the Shinobi);
  • Nage Waza: Rising and sinking methods of throwing your opponent(s) to the ground.
  • Ukemi: Methods of avoiding an attack without sustaining injury.
  • Taihenjutsu: Evading, countering, or escaping from an attack.
  • Junan taiso: The conditioning methods of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu which consist of stretching and strengthening exercises.
